So, I picked up my Omega Hummer yesterday and I'm driving it around town today. I love this thing. I'm not sure I'll be able to resist the temptation to make it my daily! Needs a proper fitting strap as this one is under sized, and I despise crocodile!

As weird as it may sound, I do like lizard and ostrich leg, as both are very reptilian in appearance. I just think crocodile is way over used as a "luxury" material.

Today it's the Benrus Citation electronic watch. I recently pulled this apart to clean it. It had a very tall battery in it and the hatch wasn't sealing so moisture was getting in and everything was beginning to stall. Next strap I buy, will be a replacement for this ugly thing.

This little watch I have had a very long time  and has been worn every day I go to work. It’s had an absolute hammering as I’m in the engineering business, it’s had multiple straps and the latest one is a stingray

A while  back I posted  a urika hamazawa..It was  really  worn past practical  repair..If you are familiar  with  the hamazawa  movement  ,you know  it's  quite tall. So  I conducted  an experiment...Urika  case ... dg2813  movement...generic  29mm sterile dial generic hands  ...."custom"  plastic   movement  holder ring and bulova water proof  crown. It all lines up..works  like a charm..something  to think about if you have an old non working  hamazawa  you want to play  with.

Today I slipped on my Pam homage I made myself from eBay parts. I fell in love with the Panerai PAM00672. The classic shape of that case and the eye catching engraving caught my eye. I happened to see a "replica" of that case on the Bay and picked one up. I also grabbed a Sea-Gull 6498 movement and a sleek black California dial with matching hands. The strap came next and I chose one that looked the part. The correctly engraved clasp was ordered last to make it complete. I get compliments all the time on it.

I honestly haven't touched it since I got it. It has been running accurately enough for my tastes. But yes, the regulator indicator is massive on this model.

.. and a fine looking bunch they are too.

I would not be the least surprised to find an old friend (the HMT 0231) lurking inside at least one of them in place of the stated "ST 90" .. (which probably actually refers to the Standard FHF 96).

There is only one way to know for sure, and that is to take a peek inside.

I see, picked them yesterday,  dosn,t ST96 variant have a calender, got them for about 30GBP. Cheap even as a practice piece.

Enjoy them whatever they turn out to be.   So far as I know, and I 'aint no expert, the standard  "Standard 96" doesn't come with date complication, however there may well be variants that do.

My blue dialed Citizen Crystron Quartz enjoying a bit of early morning Indian sunshine, makes another appearance today.

It appears to be from July 1980 (not 1985 as I previously stated), which makes it around 40 years old.

It is a Citizen, though, so it is barely run in.
