Hi guys ive been trying since yesterday to access cousins uk website but all i get is a time out error or that the domain name needs to be renewed by owner ?

Anyone else having problems accessing the cousins site ?

Surely they would have kept up to date with their web info ?

Glad im not alone, its a real pain. I have tried all devices and different browsers but to no avail. Webchecker says the site is up and running but i can't access it  :pulling-hair-out:

Hmm well at least i know im not going mad and my pc is having a fit, if others are having issues then i know its not my end. Hopefully the issue will resolve by monday as i need to order, i will give them a call to let them know there are issues.

Bummer :(

No luck from my end either. They may well be having temporary server issues. Roy's WatchforumUK has had intermittent problems during the last few weeks - it does happen.

I'm getting a "pending renewal or deletion" notification dated 18/6/2015.

Maybe his domain got hacked like Dagaz did a few weeks ago. Lost his domain so had to get a new one.

Well it has come back up for me now, i have no idea what has caused the issues or even if cousins have been aware that it has been going on. I suppose i better order quick before it goes down again :)

Works for me at 22.57 here in the UK.

Try clearing your cookies from which ever web browser you are using. Some times that will do the trick.

Looks like they forgot to renew their domain name - happened to me before.

They obviously quickly renewed it but it takes time for global DNS to propagate and that is why some of you were seeing the site and others were seeing the Network Solutions parking page.

Domain Name: COUSINSUK.COM
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 2
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL: http://networksolutions.com
Name Server: NS.RACKSPACE.COM
Name Server: NS2.RACKSPACE.COM
Status: clientTransferProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 21-jun-2015

What I don't understand is why they did not renew it for the full amount allowable - 10 years. Look - they only renewed it for one further year:

Expiration Date: 18-jun-2016

It's cheap as chips to renew domains these days - probably would have cost them about $80.

Watchrepairtalk.com won't be up for renewal until 2023 :P

    • Good to know that Oldhippy is fine.  I wish you a fast recovery, we, the noobs, miss you a lot.
    • Managed to clear the short, cleaned and oiled the movement. Now testing for 24 hours before I case it up. The movement is so small that it's loose in my smallest movement holder.
    • @oldhippy - wishing you all the very best of recoveries
    • Looks like the kind of message that occurs when there are routing issues between your local network and the remote server the site is living on - there can sometimes be 20 or 30 hops and when there are issues some of those hops become unavailable temporarily for some people but for others where there is a different path being used the issues are not manifest. Another explanation, and this used to happen to me a lot with my ISP, is using the ISP DNS servers on your device or router sometimes is not as robust as changing to a public service such as 1.1.1.1 or similar. I was having a terrible time watching Youtube a while back - changed the DNS on my Apple TV to use 1.1.1.1 and problem solved. However, these issues tend to resolve themselves fairly quickly.
    • As mentioned by the other members, it’s a dismantle job clean and inspect the solder joints. It’s an older generation using the paxolin pcb  not the glass fiber ones.
