Came accross this amazing Watch tree...I love it.

No easy fix, for starters we don't know what is causing the problem, it might be a part has broken and is jamming stuff, it could be just a part that has got out of place. The movement needs to come out of the case, remove the hands and dial and have a good look.

Iwc 7750's are designated different calibre numbers and a number of variations where produced from a heavly modified grand complication Cal.79091 to the split seconds doppel chronograph cal.79470 also in the Aquatimer split seconds.They where modified by IWC, it may be easier to search the net via Model variation rather than movement.

Here is what I did to get EQ APO to work with WOS. 1. In Device Manager, uninstall and remove the Realtek driver and reboot. Now the Windows driver is running. 2. Run EQ APO's Configurator.exe and under Capture devices, install APO to Line In (which is where I send the output of the WOS preamp). 3. APO's Configuration Editor (Editor.exe) can now be run. But its built-in graphical equalizer did not work for me (moving sliders created a lot of noise and sometimes it quits working). So instead ofthis Configuration Editor, install Peace. Put the downloaded Peace.exe file in EQ APO's config folder. Double click on Peace.exe to run the the Peace graphical equalizer. 4. WOS can now be run. A really nice feature is that the Peace equalizer sliders can be adjusted while the WOS scope feature is running. This makes it easy to find the best setting for low noise and a stable tick pattern. If you want to listen to the watch with headphones plugged into the computer (speakers won't work because of feedback), go to the Windows sound setup Recording tab and double click on Line in. Then go to the Listen tab, and check "Listen to this device". If EQ APO is not working, check that "Enable audio enhancements" is turned on in the Advanced tab (mine was set that way by default).

Can anyone help. We're having exceptional mild weather in England this year but I woke up Christmas morning to find the heat had melted my clock. That's the first thing I'd try. You can always reinstall the Realtek drivers if it doesn't work out.

Hahah! Why don't you just turn it upside down and wait for the next heat wave... then it will melt in the opposite direction! We've got the same problem here in Texas...

The message is coming from the driver, via Windows. Watch-O-Scope is just displaying it. It basically means that the driver (or something in between the driver and WOS) doesn't support 44.1kHz mono sampling (which all sound cards do support). Uninstalling and reinstalling WOS should have no effect. WOS does not interact with the audio system during installation, only when you actually run the program. As far as Realtek drivers go, I don't use them. Realtek isn't known for writing great drivers for their hardware. I've always found the Windows generic drivers to be far more reliable.

Just a little more to add to what I said in my previous post. The brass used in antique clocks and I’m talking about clocks after 1900 but before. You might find a description that says it has never been repaired, that is not luck that is because it was made of top quality brass and steel both were much harder than today. That would apply to the spring wound or fusee wound clocks. Weight driven clocks are wonderful but they all have a common fault and that is the weights, when the clock has some wear and tear the clock is forced to carry on working, that’s why it is common to find a lot of damage in weight driven clocks, in particular the 8-day Long Case or Grandfather clock, yes they are the same. Re-bushing and worn pivots are the main problem with these, worn teeth also occur but not too often. 30 hour Long Case movements nearly everything will be worn that is because people do not wind them correctly they just pull on the chain, you are meant to take the weight yourself and pull on the chain this prevents wear and tear in the movement. I hope you find this helpful.

The following site lists every 7750 based IWC calibre and then shows every model that used that particular variant, its a very useful site for checking which manufactures use which base calibre and the calibre numbers that particular maker desiginates similar to the Ranftt site. http://watchbase.com/calibers
