Surely, this must be a fake Glycine, no?

My guess would be "Made in India". What do you think?

Thats awful Watchie, everything about it is screaming Mumbai to me, besides the dial the hands look very standard from india.  Even if the seller isn't listed as being from India then someone has bought it from india and wants to offload it. Haha i stopped at the first picture then decided to go back for another laugh, there is plastic inside the movement.

As soon as I saw it I reported it to the site owner as "Suspected fraud", but then I got seconds thoughts about how embarrassing it would be to be wrong (I guess there's always a small chance), so that's when I thought I should check with you guys. Thanks!

Whenever you're telling somebody that you think their watches a fake you should list out the reasons why. Like the movement in this watch is total crap Although I probably change the wording of it's not of the same quality normally found in one of these watches. Or the  17  rubies On the dial looks like it's missing a letter. So you just tell somebody the reasons you think it's fake. Then this gets much harder for things like a Rolex watch because sometimes just swapping a dial could make a huge difference etiquette still be a real Rolex watch and still be a counterfeit. This is considerably different it just doesn't look for a nice. Then typically if anyone asks whether their watches fake typically it is fake this happens where I work people find watches get watches are paid with watches and want to know if they're legit and so far they've always been not legitimate watch us I'm sure someday someone will come in with a is this real and maybe it's going to be real but it hasn't happened yet

Haha, i used to do that when i spotted fake rolexes partly hidden in the corners of joblot watches. I guess the seller would hope some poor soul would think he had discovered a hidden gem and bid up. I suggested i was part of rolex's elite fraud squad and would be visiting the address listed by the end of the day, the listing promptly disappeared  🤣

Gott in Himmel!  And I thought the cheap Chinese movements were bad.  It looks like it's made of stamped aluminum foil.  Is that white plastic in there?  Does that thing actually run?

    • Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. I think between us we’ve worked out what’s going on. Next job is to have a proper look at this great wheel assembly, see if I can remove the clip and the friction fit pinion, give the bits a good clean, then put it back together with a bit of blue grease. I’ll also get the pallet fork under the microscope to see if it’s ok or been damaged.
    • The cannon pinion (be it conventional style or what you see in this movement) should slip on its arbour so the hands can be set independently without affecting the gear train.  If there is too much friction between the cannon pinion and the second wheel, turning the hands to set them backwards can sometimes force the escape wheel teeth to overrun the pallet stones, creating the behaviour you describe. The train is running in reverse when this happens.  This can often chip the pallet stones. I’d say at least half of the watches I’ve inspected with very tight cannon pinions had chipped pallet stones. Hopefully this isn’t the case with your watch.  I’m not familiar with this movement but you need to get the friction in the cannon pinion adjusted correctly.  Hope this helps, Mark
    • Pallet fork was in. I’d had the movement running ok, and only removed the balance to flip it over and install the keyless works and date mechanism. The pallet fork wasn’t locking the gear train when hand setting - it was oscillating as the escape wheel rotated. This may have been in one direction only - can’t remember.
