It looks in very good condition. You have the cross and top slide as well and what a nice face plate.  Do you have the collets for it? and I don't see a motor. I would screw it to a bigger board, how about fixing it to your work bench.

I have nothing else just starting my build and I intend to mount it to a separate table. I was told only to use peerless collets is this true as much info would be appreciated.

thanks kaz

That might be due to the spec of the collet for that lathe. I would look up the specs for peerless collets. Here is a picture of what you need to know when it comes to obtaining collets for a watchmakers lathe.

Very nice all you need now is a motor. Depending on the work you are going to do collets & a tip over rest will be perfect.

the tip over rest is sitting on the wood under the lathe:thumbsu:

Now that looks beautiful! Up to 0.005mm!!!

It's good to know what a top pick is to gauge whatever findings we may come across... like the super fortunate OP here! [emoji12]

If I had the money something like this Bergeon set up. . There was a similar set up as this last month on the Bay for approx. £3.5k.

My Star lathe is set up much the same as OldHippys set up with a pedal to control the speed. However I do struggle with this if working with the lathe for a long period as it makes my foot ache.

That's the Crème de la Crème when it comes to a watch makers lathe. That would be the baby for me. Cowells CW90 is more of a clockmakers, hobbyist or a model makers lathe, still a very good one with all the bits.

I can't even afford the motor in that picture, stumbled across it on the cousins website and nearly fell off my chair just from the price of the motor, let alone everything else in the picture.
