ETA 2824-2 Amplitude

Hi Everyone,

Just received a brand new ETA 2824-2 and put in on the timegrapher. Amplitude is in the low 190’s. Highest is 196 dial down. Maintains that low amplitude in at least 5 positions. I did adjust lift angle of the timegrapher to 50 degrees. I am tempted to service it, but since it is new I wanted a second opinion.

If it's brand new, is there not a warranty?

Doesnt sound right amp should be at least 270 DU/DD. I wouldn’t mess with it I would just return it.

Definitely a dud if such low amplitude brand new at full wind. Curious to know what kind of rate it keeps in each position.

Thanks everyone. Will definitely be returning. Timekeeping is pretty good. At least DD and CU its about +4 sec.

Three very important words! Try to get as close as you can to where the mainspring slips.

Return it, any fiddling /case back opening could effect the warranty agreement.

That was the most important part. Left it overnight running and wound up full today. Amplitude is now 306!
