Hey all, show off your interesting casebacks. Whether, they have an intresting design or a dedication we want to see them.

This Calypsomatic by Nivada Grenchen is such a cool design. Love the palms!

This caseback dedication is a great example of an era gone by when people would dedicate their entire life to one company. This caseback came off my 1969 Bulova Oceanographer 666 diver. I am sure Herbert is now passed but apart of him is still here.

I've got lots of interesting case backs and dedications but have always thought the back from this Westclox diver was rather interesting with the diver and fish.

These are all mine. I threw in a few of my pocket watches because they were interesting.

Who knows. Makers buy different cases from makers for different reasons. Perhaps the case back didn't even belong to the case and was an odd replacement.

As a current member of UAW, I have been tempted to acquire a watch with the UAW logo as the dial.

Something like this.

What terrible engraving. Was it done with a hammer and chisel?[emoji3]

[emoji38]. It reminds me of the credits at the end of ‘The Flintstones’.

Allaine 25 Jewels with Felsa 1560 movement. How did they do that joined-up writing which was better than my school efforts with a pencil! Incidentally, after servicing, I put a better crown on.

This is a Breitling Ladies Diver, which is half diameter of the Mens Breitling Marine Star. I’m currently restoring it but struggling to obtain a new crystal (chrome armour ring, diver profile). I’m going to try to obtain one direct from SternKreuz.

In the photo, the bezel is missing but I have now managed to acquire one with the wire retaining spring which is a bonus.

The movement is an Adolf Shilds, automatic (I forget the calibre) but it is running so well I’m reluctant to service it.

New stainless steel crown with double o ring is on order from cousins, but the case seal is proving to be a nightmare. Wherever I search they seem to be obsolete.

I look forward to any comments or advice.

Kind regards

Deggsie

I saw a 70s vintage US Steel Workers Union (I think that's what it was) watch the other day on eBay. The movement was Russian (Vostok, I think). I bid on it for that reason alone (and did not win).

I've purchased a trench watch with a dedication "To Sarah from Arthur 1915".  Thought to myself, what a lovely gesture.  These watches already have a history but to have been gifted to....oh...hang on minute...To Sarah?  Can't imagine "Sarah" being in a trench in northern France about to go over the top.  Nurse maybe?
