I am Murtaza from India. I am just interested in watches and clocks as a hobby, and a beginner at that. The internet can be a very good source of knowledge, so would love to join this community.

Hi and welcome.

India has produced quite a number of interesting watches and clock over the years. HMT, Alwyn, Timestar to name but a few. There are a lot of nice examples about (and more than a few that have had a hard life). I have a bit of a soft spot for HMT, as they were well made and easy to service .

@AndyHull I am starting out on an HMT kohinoor, actually. have started to disassembled it. Will be posting pics as soon as I can.

Love those HMT's.....but after receiving a Mumbay special I stay away from them
