I was wondering what kind of gloves you guys wear when working?  The ones I see in pics and videos look like regular plain white cotton gloves, is that right?  I was looking for a microfiber glove that wouldn’t leave any fibers behind, but I couldn’t find any for any reasonable price.  Is there anything wrong with nitrile besides not breathing at all?  I use those all the time at work, and I think they’d work fine, unless I’m missing some aspect.

Cotten gloves when handling the cases when polishing etc. When assembling a watch I use finger cots on a couple of fingers of one hand. For clock assembly I use powerless nitrile gloves.

Marigolds........  :D

Actually being the skinflit that I am I buy the powder free vinyl or nitrile examination gloves and cut the fingers off to use as cots. I find that the full glove is too sweaty, but proper finger cots seem to be a silly price.  This way I get 500 cots for about £4, or £1.50 if I find gloves at a car boot.

I do the same ! I find finger cots to tight and shut off the blood supply, so buy powder less rubber gloves and cut the fingers off.

I only ever wore thick gloves when working with large powerful clock mainsprings. Never used any thing for watch work.

I like OH’s response. Can’t find comfortable finger cots.

So do you have an Amazon link for large finger cots or a link for gloves that I could turn into finger cots?
