  1. Do you test the barrel alone by winding the arbor to see if the mainspring had hooked on correctly? You could have inserted it the wrong way around for example. Another common fault with assembling keyless works is to insert the castle wheel the wrong way round as the teeth have different profiles on either side.

  4. Yes the slipping bridle is attached to the mainspring, and both mainspring and bridle are constrained within the holding washer

  6. Opening a roller by 0.80mm is a lot, and it looks like a steel roller so going will be tough with a broach. Possible you don’t have the wall thickness to take that out even provided you have a good way to hold the roller and some buttkickin broaches. Best would be to turn down the staff.

  8. I found a cracked cap jewel for the escapement and needed to replace with another jewel. Problem I seem to always have is opening up the setting enough to place in the new jewel and then carefully closing it. Seemed to sort of work this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
