NOS radium lume that has been protected from moisture/humidity is much greener than I would have expected, based on some well-wrapped example hand cards I’ve come across. Very similar to 1st generation “cold” lume and other glow-in-the-dark items from the 70’s and 80’s.

Oh man am I glad you showed up to tell me that before I tried to yank it out! Yesterday I actually found a photo of one of these deconstructed on watchuseek or someplace, and the picture was attributed to you. But the stem in the photo was assembled and I was planning to track you down here to make sure it came apart. I assume there must be some space to grip the stem while unscrewing the crown and I can't wait for this to be delivered.

Yes i did see the ovalated jewel hole, and the pivot will jump from one end of the jewel hole to the other. I've seen it a lot in plate and bridge hole bearings of cheap and old watches, but i have also seen it in jewels. Jewels are so hard that they dont wear...complete tosh 😅. Manufacturing quality control...more tosh 😅 -
This is a common problem, miss-readings when the watch is cased, especially if the movement is not held rigidly in the case. When testing cased watches in my Weishi 1000 (you cannot adjust the gain), I put the crown against the outer metal post of the holder, as the stem and crown can transmit a clearer sound from the movement. Even so, I have some watches (like a Seiko Divers watch)where I cannot get a sensible reading from cased movement.
