Buying from Cousinsuk

Recommended Posts

For some reason, I started experiencing problems paying with my card, the very same card IUve been using for the last couple of years, each time I try to pay for an order, I get transaction failed notice.

I contacted my bank, and they said there's nothing wrong with the card, or the cards permissions, nothing has changed etc,

So what I ended up doing is applying for a new card from the bank, and this now works, very strange.

I had exactly the same happening to me, while researching I learned two important things.

  • The billing/shipping address of the Cousins order need to match the card billing address. According to Cousins it has to be only for the first order, but I've found differently.
  • The customer service representative of the bank doesn't see the charging attempt, but the security specialist does and advised me of the reason.above.

They are always helping and patient both on the phone and online. But they could not help with the issue because the purchase approval policies are set by their credit card processor, not them, It is also possible to place orders on the the phone, that will just remove the small online discount.

I was more thinking of opening cousinsuk on internet on the phone:) And logging in that way? Using my mobile bankid account that i have in the phone.

But i couldn't log in with my email address and password?

Hope it works out? Or i will have to order a new card. But there are som many other things i have to change if i do? Paypal is the most difficult.

I think that the C/C verification process (verified by Visa / MC SecureCode) is the same even using the app.

Your credit card has been working fine when I've been using it. [emoji41]

What is that exactly?

Mobile Bankid?

That is a login on my bank? That i use over the telephone. I can do all sorts of transactions . Paying my bills,Swish,Vote, and filling in my tax declaration. Check the amount i have left on my account .

Very nice. Have to order it from my bank. I use a number i log in with. I have the App downloaded in my telephone.

You must have something similar in our countries?

I don't understand how would you use that with Cousins check-out. They only accept debit or credit cards.

I have my credit card attached to my Bankid. So in order to pay the parts i order i have to open my bankid app. Enter the number that i have for openig my bankid app?

Then i can pay my order from cousinsuk.

Sort of making it harder to scam or getting hold of my mastercard number?

See if i can explain?

Lets say i order from cousinsuk or any other site that use this kind of verification system?

It's comes from my bank. Verified by Mastercard or Visa . They have an extra control after all the other parts you have to go thru to make the order or buy.

I do my order. Then there comes up a verfication form from Mastercard or Visa that i have to fill in. Have a special password that i use for that.

But now that didn't work. So i had to do the complete verification thru my phone

It sure is complicated?

You are using one-time virtual c/c numbers. But the issue here is not scamming, is being unable to pay with a legitimate c/c.

Yes. They have somehow changed the system before the end of it's  time. The old system was going  to get changed anyhow  in October?

I guess they changed it now instead. This weekend.

Something i didn't now.? Making it much more difficult to do the order?

Working fine when you now how you should do it.

    • This is not rare at all, the dial code and case code don't usually match.
    • Good question!! Anyone know of a substitute movement??!! 🤔🙏
    • Interesting issue that I just noticed: this Seiko 5actus Watch from 1977 has a calibre listing on the dial of 7019-8030R but on the case back it says 7019-8010!! Like a mis-printed coin, is this watch therefore worth a lot of money for its rarity?? 🤪😲🤔🤪
    • I wish that was the case. The Aegler movements used in the early days by Wilsdorf & Davis (for brands like Rolex and Rolco) came in several sizes and without designated calibre numbers that survive.  They become a bit easier to identify during the 1920s. Below is an Aegler-Rebberg, 25.74mm in diameter. It’s from a woman’s Rolex wristwatch. Stamped Rebberg and 500 on the dial plate (but it isn’t a Rebberg 500, it’s the wrong size).  I’d be interested if anyone can identify the movement.  It is based off the Aegler Nr.1, circa 1903, but they based many many calibres of different sizes on it. The closest I have to a positive ID is the  ‘Rolex Nr.50’ circa 1917, but no dial side images or movement sizes are available in the references. There are identical looking movements in many sizes.  The 25.74mm of this movement is a particularly strange size for the era, it equates to 11.41 lignes.      Best Regards, Mark
    • It looks like this movement comes with a number of different shock settings. Emmywatch shows that it comes in versions with no shock settings, 'Incabloc', 'shock resist', and 'Supershock'. Perhaps the different settings position the impulse jewel/roller table in a non-ideal position relative to the pallet fork/guard pin. Are you able to check under high magnification if the pallet fork and roller table are able to operate without any interference? Just for fun I took a look and I have one FHF 70 in my collection, a West End Secundus with a non-shock protected FHF70. I had a note with the watch that said, "Movement is stamped 'FHF 70', but the FHF70 looks to have sub-seconds instead of center seconds movement (??)" but that a google search turned up both types for this movement. EDIT: I just took a look in my parts drawer and I have a few of these movements, both in center seconds and sweep seconds, but they all are non-shock protected.
