Evening Forum

Hard to explain why but the world of horology seems to have taken hold of me lately and, as I keep finding myself on this site, I thought I would join up and introduce myself.

My interest in horology is more towards the mechanics/repair side of this field (rather than the collecting aspect) and the more I read on the subject only makes me more aware that I am on a long journey.  Much to learn but as the saying goes; A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Thanks for the welcome and for the literature. I'm currently reading George Daniels 'Watchmaking' and have his 'Practical Watch Escapement' next in line. This is going to be a side hobby for me due to work but I can already sense it is going to be a long-term venture.

I've been looking around the forum for a while now and it does seem to be a very friendly place.
