Wow this is fascinating and I’m loving it! I can’t believe the lengths you went to for my questions, I really appreciate you mate! So perhaps the good news is I actually have a few potential donor movements or watch’s to look into instead of focusing on the single one (1688) Ive actually tried using epoxy to re-connect the the two pieces which is currently setting and waiting to be filed smooth whilst I try and find parts for a ghost movement 😆 Huge thanks John 🫡 -
normal that would be true but there appears to be a problem here. When I went looking for the cross reference parts list of the 1688 it referred me to another caliber which seemed suspicious? A little more research indicated what the problem is. Let me quote something for the first link. notice for both the 6887 and the 1688 that it's the base caliber and the part about unknown whether the base caliber actually exist at all? https://ranfft.org/caliber/777-AS-1688 https://ranfft.org/caliber/5946-Girard-Perregaux-3009 notice what happens when you go looking for the parts yes the first link has a few of them but basically refers you to another watch in the second one only refers you to have a watch which is the last link. http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=AS_1687 http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=AS_1688 http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=ZOD_61_OLD

Hi folks, I'm servicing a Junghans mantle clock with a lovely movement from the 20s. I'm having a little trouble setting up the strike mechanism. Can anyone help me out with a few pointers, please? Ideally, a complete setup procedure or a link to some documentation might help. Pictures below... Many thanks.
