I purchased a replacement movement for a watch repair.

When it came it had with it a small steel object loose in the packet. Very thin steel.

I can't find anything similar on the original movement.

Does anyone know what it is please.

Thought it was a temporary hand that came with the new movement to be honest.

Don't do too many movement swaps to be honest but I seem to remember something similar from one I did in a Rotary I worked on some time ago.

nad, I think you are on the right track. I remember it sitting on top sort of in mid air but I think it may be to stop the cannon pinion from falling off.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm just going to ignore it and fit the movement in he case and see if it works,

Ronda 515? I replaced  one not too long ago.I saw one of those  in the bag  as well.  Since nothing  appeared  to be missing  from the movement  I didn't  worry  about it.

If it doesn't  work you've  got a problem.

I'm now envisioning a bored little guy in a factory giggling away to himself as he pops one of these bits from a bucket nearby into each movement that goes to shipping. :D
