I'm more like: " this watch was 'renting' my wrist today" :D

Today's watch, last Timex for the week. (maybe, lol) Love this style, is definitely rare.

Well i managed to fix the screw and after 2 days of testing the watch is working. I haven't fully recharged the main spring as i fear the crown wheel will pop off :). From checking the watch during these two days i see that is working 1-2 second ahead of the watch in my PC, i have tried many times to regulate the beating of the balance by putting it in the slow motion but as i see it the watch always finds a way to speed up :) THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE SUPPORT/SUGGESTIONS YOU HAVE GIVEN ME DURING THIS TIME :) Operation can be called finished

I was sitting having my breakfast yesterday when I received a texts from good friend of mine who owns a Honda garage, "Nice car on the forecourt.......quite a nice day too! Intrigued I popped along and was given the keys and told to take it away for a spin. He himself had not even driven it at this point. When I saw what it was, I couldn't refuse. Ooooo it was fun!

Ah the joys of marriage...shared bank accounts...wife does the budget...wife looks sternly at you when you gaze longingly at that new watch/car/tv/stereo, etc... Wife controls the hoarding instincts and wife ditches stuff that you always think should never have been thrown out. Women...just marvellous! :P ;)

It actually works this way: I show my watch collection to the wife. She choses one for me to wear and I set a price so I can spend the money in...more watches! So, to answer your question Joe, rent is variable but she thinks it is me joking....until she check the statements! :)

have you tried using a piece of rodico to pick it up with ?

This is the type of oil pot I used, I had three. I found this one on ebay but its expensive.

Hi Alaskamick, Micky is having issues with the bottom part of the press that should move contrary to the effect of the main shaft which in turn screws down to exert the pressure. The effect of both the main shaft and the bottom part with their opposite movement makes the press to appear to exert a steady, downward force without friction on the pressed item. The part that is breaking is binding, i.e. not turning when it should. It should be definitely a manufacturer's thing. I would try and alleviate the problem by putting some grease there but it should not happen. This press can be used for both, case and/or crystal and comes with double duty dies. I have a Witschi equivalent which uses the same dies but I haven't had any issues with that one. The price was about the same (when I bought it) now it is almost double. Some other presses are sold as "dedicated" for crystals only (which I think is more like a marketing thing rather than their true application...a press is a press anyway!) an example would be the Bergeon 5500 which used to be listed as either crystal press only or back & crystal press depending on the site. Maybe the distinction is made in dependence of how "level" or precise they are when exerting pressure...then the cheapo ones can not be crystal presses I suppose. Cheers, Bob PS.
