  1. It's time you invested in a staking set Jim. I find it hard to believe that a man of your "horological calibre" and passion fit tools, doesn't have a set. Now you have the excuse to go and buy one. Here's a link fir the staff that you require:- http://www.urdelar.se/omega?product_id=883

  2. Think the watch is a fake . have never seen a caseback from Omega with printing like that . Also found this when i searched a little . http://www.graceful-watches.com/166.0228-33694.html http://www.fakes-watch.com/166.0228-33694.html Take a look at the caseback

  3. ah, found back where I saw it before. http://watchguy.co.uk/repair-and-service-universal-geneve-tri-compax-calibre-481/ There you can see that a old tube is soldered on a new hand. I did ask him ho he does it, see his response on the comments on the link!

  4. Have you tried googling accutron repair uk Comes up with a nice list. So Worldwide there still are few people repairing tuning fork watches out there even though parts are getting hard to find if not perhaps impossible depending upon what you're looking for. After all they came out about 50 years ago and the parts probably weren't met to last forever at least the supply. The link below is somebody repairing electric watches strangely enough he doesn't appear to do quartz watches? Then the really outstanding feature this website is his obsession with electric watches and putting all about on the website. So there's a really impressive website a lot of knowledge on electric watches. Although might not be that helpful apparently he's in the process of moving someplace and won't be taking work in until sometime in December. http://electric-watches.co.uk/service-and-repair/

  5. As everyone know, some tools can be somewhat overpriced for what they are, take the Bergeon dial working platform for example. Bergeon_7053_ by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr BERGEON do sell some great tools of high quality, but the prices are crazy at times, the above dial platform retails at €189 euros. I decided there is no way I would pay that much, and then started looking at how I could make my own, it couldn't be too difficult, right? Here's what I came up with, not pretty, but it works, its a hockey puck, and I drilled lots of small diameter holes in the one side. Hockey puck costs €3 euros delivered. Started life like this. Untitled by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr And here's another tool I made for a special case back screw design. Untitled by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr Other thing I use, instead of Bergeon dial protectors when removing hands, I use a clean ziplock bag.. Oh, and a bonus item I made is this microphone dust cover. 7. Me too. By the way, it is great to know...I believed originally, considering the owner said he had purchased the watch from a jewelry/pawn place that they had sold the case (probably gold from another omega) and used the movement in the constellation case. Now I have my doubts. I don't know if to pass the new information to the owner...he thinks he has the real thing! :) Cheers, Bob

  8. Was my thought also .But haven't found anything about the lemania hands size . I thought maybe one hand or two could work .

  10. Hello, Too late, i know! The case is a Constellation C Shape, without doubts, but not the movement, all the Connies are adjusted to 5 positions chrono grade movements and this one is a base unadjusted 17 jewells, most probably from a Seamaster. Best regards. Miguel

  12. Thanks everyone, I would of replied sooner however I'm working tonight and with it being bonfire night and working in Manchester!!! Hiya Clockwatcher, it all started when I walked into a jewellers last Christmas when the guy who worked there pounced on me as I was looking at Rado watches, even though I told him I couldn't afford one he still insisted that I try one on, I loved it and when he came out with "watches are a good investment" I thought right, I'll buy a second hand one off ebay and see if I can turn a profit. I bought a Florence and cleaned it up and changed the battery and made £80, then a Diastar and made £70, then a Coupole and made £40! However since then I bought another Florence and managed to rub all the decals off the face cleaning it up and I'm currently trying to fix a bezel that has broken into 3 off a Diastar that I gave £40 for. P.S firemen wear cheap crappy watches for work as they inevitably get smashed!

  13. Hi, Parts are indeed hard to come by that are really working. I have seen people advertising that they work on these watches. If you really need parts it would most likely be easier just to buy working movements of the same calibers you need that work and just change out your hands and dial onto the working movements. I do work on these watches but normally I can buy a working donor watch for a cheaper price than buying a good set of coils. When you do that then you have a spare movement for other parts later. 14. That depends since the movement is made by Citizen, the lemania hands might not have the same diameter, rogart. Jeepguy, it is possible to get what you want, when looking at a center seconds hand for possible trimming, also look at the tail. You can actually use the tail as the small hand by removing the opposite end, the longer one. Some center seconds hands have the tail that look like the hands you are looking for. Just an idea... 15. I think you are all terrible chaps for inferring such stuff. Shame on you all! I am now relishing the moral high ground which I can normally only glimpse from the subterranean levels my mind normally exists upon. Cheers, Vic

  16. Old video, but new high resolution, I asked them recently if they had a better quality video as the old one was pixelated.

  17. I also have a Seiko open on my desk at the moment, they refer to the divers style watches as Pepsi Seikos because of the colors of the bezel, however this must be the REAL THING! Not to be confused with the "Coke is the real thing" Coca Cola ad. This needs a little work of course, epoxy resin to the rescue for this one.

  18. Yes, just saves the flier which is very common with these blighters. I must admit the last one fitted I did not use the clingfilm trick but used very fine tweezers (Dumont 5 ) & very fine peg wood to steady with. I also de-magnitised the spring & tweezers for good measure.
