  1. I'm having fun with this seller, he describes this clock as in working order. I have pointed out to him that the complete suspension block is missing and it is impossible for the clock to work. He has got back saying he has a video of the clock working, so I asked him to provide a link for me to see and if not I would report him. He has got back and told me not to be so stupid and to have a nice day. I have reported it to ebay and told him so. This is the link to the clock. Pester the seller as much as you like. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133556249496?ul_noapp=true

  2. The new balance had similar dimensions as the old one, and upon installing it, proved to be the correct balance. Timegrapher shows +6, around 290 amplitude and the BE is 0.4. so very chuffed. The Eta 900 is now ticking away happily in the first watch I've completed: this late 40's, early 50's Stowa, with an immaculate dial.

  3. This is the first watch I ever bought. 1976. Still love it. I have put a better strap on it though.

  4. Dear watch repairers, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the lives of hairsprings lost; in the shaky tweezers of beginner watch repairers, in the dark bowels of attics and hobby rooms. These hairsprings have become needless victims of mankinds insatiable appetite for high amplitudes and low beat errors. May they rest in eternal peace, with their equally maligned friend; the pivot. Thank you and stay safe, Gaspard de Coligny

  5. Something happened I never though would happen. Our very own clock stopped working.... and I could not remove the hour hand... Little bit of googling... Wickes visit... Then I made a hand puller out of some steel tube... Not precise and would not win any award, but it actually worked as it was made for the purpose. Next time, if I get the chance to spend more time with it, things might even get a little bit more parallel.

  6. There might not be an exact equiverlant. However this is its tech sheet with most of its dimensions. Using this you can compare with the many available in the Cousins catalogue. 6N22A, 6N42A.pdf

  7. Even if some poor fool buy’s it, it’s covered by eBay’s guarantee. I see stupid says no refunds, which doesn’t apply. He says it’s in working order. It cannot work with missing pieces.

  9. Hi I have attached the tech sheets for both models. There is quite often compatability within family groups for manufacturing reasons as these are both 25 series its quite possible. Zenith 2522C, 2532C.pdf 3563_Zenith 2552PC,2562PC.pdf

  10. With lighter fuels (Ronsonol, Zippo etc) the well known quality brands are usually very clean/pure and do not leave any residues. Cheapo brands often do. Quick test is to put a few drops on a clean mirror under a cover (to prevent airborne dust) and allow to dry. Good quality ones usually leave no trace. I use Ronsonol, but do a primary clean (using USonic if required) and then at least 1 secondary clean/rinse with new clean fluid. Ronsonol etc are normally readily available in supermarkets and small stores, can't see a need to order on line etc.

  11. I bought this for my father on behalf of my mother, from a seller in Argentina. It needed a case adjustment, glass adjustment, and service. I really love it. My father gave it to me last week ? Does anyone have information on "Quillet"?
