Non removable balance jewel?

Hi, I'm working on this Ronda 217 movement and I couldn't figure out how to take the jewel off the balance cock. Are these designed to be disposable?

Any idea how to clean and oil it properly?

I believe you have to take the "entire" ensemble apart...

I removed the balance wheel and cleaned and oil from the inside. Stupid construction. Same with the jewel in the bottom plate.

That's a new one for me. It looks like it could screw off. However if not you will have to clean buy soaking in a dish with a de-greasing fluid and then agitate with a blower. Then dry & then lube with a auto oiler.

Does the base plate have a conical pivot (and conical bearing) with adjustable endshake (by screwing the bearing in and out)?

Have an old one here somewhere. Can  do some violent work on it and see how it sits together

No balance on the movement i had. But had a jewel like that in the movement plate. Couldn't remove it. Looked pressed in. So think you need to clean as is.

It appears the jewel assembly was sold as a spare part so it must come out... but may not come apart

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I will try the unscrewing and see if its possible.

What I did is just clean in an ultrasonic and naphta and oiling it from inside which was very tricky because I couldn't figure out how to remove the hairspring from the balance cock.

I will look into it again.

It's removable but i wouldn't do it. Found this balance so i took it apart. The jewel is one part . And there is no thread in there . In order to remove the balance i had to remove the arms . To clean just put complete part in ultrasonic bath. And oil the jewel from the inside.
