Bell & Ross...

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired this Bell & Ross BR03 - 92 Aviation watch that I had been wanting to get this year . This one came with a signed Bell and Ross stainless bracelet  . I really hadn't seen any of this model with a Stainless Steel bracelet before .

I installed a silicone rubber B & R strap until I get one of the leather straps . It's the 42mm model and I believe they have a 46mm version . It has a bright blue lume that is very easily read owing to the large uncluttered dial .

Nice watch if a little on the large side for my taste.

I do have another problem with it too. A mysterious screw in the middle of the back with a label that says "do not unscrew" would be too much for me to resist. It's like having a big red button that says "do not press"... you just have to to see what happens!!

The 'do not unscrew' screw is no great mystery, It's gives access to the setting lever, as the watch is de cased from the front. :D

But what was i originally going to say? oh yes, really nice watch, I'm jealous only I too share the problem of some others in that I cannot wear large watches, appreciate? yes. wear? no.

Very nice time piece.

The "do not unscrew" directive is definitely for newbs like me.

How does it go again, only fools rush in where angels fear to tread.... :D

Thanks . I had gone window shopping in a high end shop in Waikiki , [Tourneau ] , and saw the Bell and Ross line and had to have one .

I realize that it has a large presence , but when you see and wear it ,....it's nice  . I do like it .

I'm reminded of an off color joke.

A child was born with a solid gold screw in his navel.

All his life he & everyone ask the question what is it for?

He is told to go to India where such things are known by the Yogis

He goes to India, & is told to climb the golden mountain to find the answer

He reaches the top & yells what is this screw for?

A golden cloud forms overhead ,a gold arm pierces the cloud with a golden screwdriver

which unscrews the golden screw in his navel.

He stands up and his butt falls off!

    • Drat and double drat i was looking forward to the royalties on that idea.
    • Compression Spring Various Size. This might be helpful. I have watch furniture restorers and how they go about this problem, they inject glue underneath with a syringe and clamp it, leave over night. Next day remove clamp and it smooth. You could use an iron but be careful not to burn the wood.  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265697329513?chn=ps&_ul=GB&var=565484998457&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1jd_-94ilTHWZLQ3PxHeC1A73&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=565484998457_265697329513&targetid=1647205088320&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006662&poi=&campaignid=17206177401&mkgroupid=136851690655&rlsatarget=pla-1647205088320&abcId=9300866&merchantid=119334104&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwir2xBhC_ARIsAMTXk849TnBArEYdgv1DpHf_somCZYmB7ViqD3UtvNJJc_dn4kj0AFxBXngaArSAEALw_wcB
    • 🤣 i think your first statement is rather dramatic, but i will take it in good humour.  I think the thread speaks for itself John.  What we are aiming for and when i say we, thats not actually that many that have spoke up. Is to have a back up plan to keep members in touch in case the forum ever disappears. So in essence yes the group has maybe taken on a life of its own and would like to remain together forever ( 🤣 i can also be dramatic )  maybe more members need to give some input of how they feel about it or say they are just not that bothered.  Either way at least the question gets answered. Can i ask what the forum means to you and how you would feel without it ? Thats one answer Rich from one person, without knowing how others feel the thread was just a waste of time. Aw Rich are you saying you'd miss me ? I'm touched 🙂
