New to this hobby.  My wife and I have always been watch enthusiasts.  Now I’m looking to get into the workings.  I’m engineer by trade so I have a solid understanding of mechanics, lubricants, etc.

If someone would recommend a good first book I would appreciate it.  Lots of mixed reviews on the available books.

Thanks

Welcome to WRT and good luck with your foray into watch repair.

Practical watch repairing by Donald de carle is illustrated. You best practice on scap movements first, rebuild a good one out of two or more scarps of the same caliber.

Good luck

Hello and welcome to the forum,  Old Hippy has already mentioned Donald De Carle. I would also recommend Henry B Fried's books, and also Our Host/Administrators  on line courses and Videos. Old hippy has already attached the TZ document, I have attached an other two for you, one on Quartz watches as no doubt you will see some.
