The timegrapher displays significant beat error variations in the dial-up position. When the watch is lying flat (face up), the beat error is much higher than in other positions. Beat error readings are inconsistent, with especially large gaps in the face-up position.Ā Ā Please help ! Ā

Looks like an open-access journal that runs as a glorified pre-print server with no true peer review, so itās not easy to judge the veracity of the conclusions.

Update: I got my "four inch" auction faceplate and I measure it at 98mm, fits my WW lathe nicely.

Iām sure these will be good enough for me to take my movement apart a few times.Ā Regards to oil, Iāve heard the specific movement Iāve bought often comes dry which obviously can be an issue although they still run.. I may also just use a basic oil as I highly doubt I will be using the movement for anything other than practice. Thats assuming I donāt break half of it on my first try šĀ

These are perfectly acceptable to begin with.Ā https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/value-screwdriver-sets-rotating-stands Have a look under, resources, day one tools on here.Ā Oil/ grease wise, don't tell anyone but I started of with genetic watch oil/grease.Ā My reasoning was, can I disassemble, clean, reassemble and the movement still runs. Once I could do that, I bought the correct lubricants.Ā
