Seiko 5 6319-7010 repair

Hi,

I've found my old Seiko 5 and it's looking a bit dishevelled.

I've had it from new in the 70s and it's been sitting in a draw for the past 30 years.

I need the strap replaced, glass, either with the original style or normal? and to get rid of some of the scratches on the body.

Can anyone tell me the best place to go to please. I'm in the Manchester area of the UK.

Thank you

Is this a usual thing or is it rare that it was done for this model?

It's very usual. All Seiko mechanical have a 2nd language, Spanish is the most common, followed by Arabic.

You should check the watch on a timegrapher or equivalent application. Even if servicing professionally would cost times its value, at least you would know its "health".

FYI that we have a dedicated section for general watch talk like this subject, as well one for new members to introduce themselves.

Hi, I have a pair of these watches, you can buy the proper faceted crystal/glass on eBay but at £34.00 if I remember rightly. I have one with the correct crystal and one with a plain replacement glass, good luck in getting it sorted.

Hi  If you are looking to do it yourself Then cousins uk is the place to start for bits. If you are looking for a repair agent Then go to the British Horological Institutes wab site and look up the list of accredited repair agents that way you are assured of a quality repair.

Hi I Ts,  it isn't that rare but still a nice watch on the wrist, and the 1st watch I disassemble, cleaned and oiled, and reassembled that worked lol. Sometimes they pop up on eBay for about 60quid ish. You need a 16mm strap for it.
