Hey All, I thought I'd share the plans for making watch hand setters. I wasn't able to get any cheaply or easily so I decided to make my own. A note of caution, turning small diameter PVC is a pain. I was able to after much trial and error, but the accuracy was pretty bad. To be fair I was using an enormous 13x48" engine lathe with a 3jaw chuck and HSS tools ground for steel so your results may vary. Design is based on pictures of other watch setters I found on the internet. I chose 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and blunt tips. Cheers, Watch Hand Setter Drawing.pdf

Hi, I designed this Bergeon style part dust tray for watchmakers or hobbyist to put tiny dust sensitive parts to prevent the dust landing on it, it usually comes with a clear glass bell cover, but I can't print glass, untransparent will do for me, enjoy. The bell cover needs support while printing, I printed in 0.15mm resolution, looks good and works well, if you have more watchmaker tools requirements can be printed in plastic, please let me know, I'll love to design them, thanks. I have done that . I cut the stuck of clutch parts of a 6139B. It's often the springs that are broken. The shaft is one unit from the top to the bottom. The clutch parts with the finger is pressed on to the shaft. So to be able to repair it you need a special tool to remove that with. Think i could still have it here somewhere. I sent a couple of broken ones to a guy. He should see if he could repair them. Haven't seen anything yet. Can maybe be done but think it's almost impossible. Maybe making new ones. But they would be expensive.

My B'day was yesterday, and this is a gift. I took it off the bracelet and today I've worn it to work. First day on the wrist and its working nicely. Its not too bulky and just the right size. Notice the stainless steel table--gives a hint as to where I am.

What Rogart has done is not lapping, he ingeniously used the geometry of the lathe to keep filing at the right angle. The same setup could be replicated with a fixture all made of wood.

I agree , I see engraving on the back and it sets my imagination into motion . I didn't used to feel that way , and either tried to remove the inscription , or looked for another case back . But after seeing so many now that say "Love Always" , or "On your Graduation 1960 " , or "Congratulations" . I now start to see a side road off of the usual business of watch Collecting . This great Hobby has also helped teach me patience , given me Pure Pleasure after a completed project , and lets me escape for a while into a world of quiet , beautiful parts and pieces , and the satisfaction of having a Nice timepiece on my wrist .
