New work bench

Hi Guys

The underside of the bench is 870mm from the floor. This was a convenient height because I could then use kitchen breakfast bar legs.

I'm buying a new chair with adjustable height too as I sometimes feel I need to sit lower still.

I use a stool, I found a local company that makes commercial furniture and bought myself a dentist stool, it has a ring around the underside of the seat for raising or lowering so you don't need to hunt for a leaver when you want to raise or lower the chair.

It cost more than a stool would of cost at the local furniture shop, but it is better in every way.

I like your bench too

Dentist stool is a good idea.

As im a drummer, you may want to look into a drum throne as well. Some have back rests as well but the basic ones have lots of adjustments for height (usually threaded rod) and are quite cheap these days.

Hi Guys. Just a little updated photo of my new work station. Camera setup is great for helping me see what I am doing on the screen, due to the usual mid life eye deterioration. Chair I went for is an office type with adjustable height and tilt, seems comfy so far. Have a great weekend. Rick

I like the camera and screen setup. Is that about how far you would normally have the lens from your work? Is there any chance you could post a pic of how well your camera can zoom in on the movement at a distance you would normally work from. I'm thinking of something similar, which would be well handy as I take a lot of pics as I'm stripping down. I've even got a floor pedal I could rig to work as a trigger for the shutter. Really nicely done!
