Picked up a pair of vintage side marker lights at a fleamarket recently for around USD5.

It's marked LEP which I guess is Lucas Electric (Parts?)? But on most Lucas items I usually see Made in England marked somewhere but not on this one, perhaps the small size was a factor.

Body is heavy,  probably chromed brass so I guess it would be pre WW2 or at least a pre WW2 design.  The red plastic would be an indicator to show if the light was working.

Anyone have an idea what car (or bike)  they would have fitted originally? IMG20180503151851.thumb.jpg.e7f15d9f2872d0b5131ee1fbe030505b.jpgIMG20180503151908.thumb.jpg.4e37ea1ec6e77af362d3bb75979e133b.jpgIMG20180503152035.thumb.jpg.c9ce94a88e7ce60c5ba2a36d8d2cf379.jpgIMG20180503152332.thumb.jpg.01c6c1c2dd59d3ff90d92c17104c0aa4.jpg

I'm sure there are some car guys around.  Car,  bikes,  watches.. These seem to go along somehow.

I did consider bikes but on most of them they are usually built into the headlamp nacelle.  Enfield Bullets for example.

These look like Lucas side markers either original or repro. These were fitted to a wide range of British cars and commercial vehicles in the thirties and forties.
These were often used to provided a sidelight but also as a direction indicator in later years.
