I wonder what my father - who was a navigator in RAF Transport Command from 1941-1946 - would have made of this one, which I'm expecting in the post tomorrow. It's a sweet piece of engineering and, though I'll never be piloting a plane, I will certainly be enjoying the mechanics of this watch. The main hands setting and chrono buttons are on the left, and the two buttons on the right operate the upper and lower interior bezels which can be used to calculate cross wind drift (hence the name of the watch: "X-Wind"). Valjoux 7750 chrono movement.

Now that's a watch, Will! Wow, I'm searching the net right now to find me one! Congratulations for your very nice looking and super well made watch! Hamiltons rock!

Cheers,

Now that is a lovely watch Will. :) I'd find it easier to fly the aircraft than operate the watch! :D

I'll be starting my college course on how to work the watch next Monday!

:D

I have been in love with my Hamilton Khaki King Automatic since the day I saw it, Got it for a fantastic used price!  I imagine you will have the same enjoyment!  Congrats on the beautiful timepiece.

You must have the patience of a saint to keep those plastic covers on - I'd have had them off in 1 seconds flat!

You should see his sofa and lounge suite!
