Hello from Singapore too.

Your friend has much faith in you to trust the repair of his watch to a beginner. Let's make sure you do not disappoint him.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing the disassembly/reassembly of the 7S36. But that won't help you fix the mangled hairspring problem.

Watch the videos on straightening a hairspring on YouTube. Mark, the creater of this forum, has a good video on straightening a hairspring. But it's not beginners level stuff.

But who am I to judge. We've had beginners who managed to replace a balance staff.

Good luck and ask us anything.

Thanks for the intro @yongst, welcome to the WRT forum! I'm also relatively new and I'm in the middle of my first service of an Elgin Grade 313 movement.

Have you done any YT searches regarding Seiko watch repairs? You might find something there. Also look at the walkthroughs here while searching on Seiko.
