Hello all

 

Nick from canada

 

I am an automotive technician, and I have a bulova precionist watch that I would like to fix, so I consider myself mechanically inclined but do not know much about fixing watches but I am willing to learn

 

I must also say that I am french, so plz forgive errors in my writing

 

The stem snapped in the crown.

 

any help with this would be greatly appreciated, advice on where to find parts etc what tools I need to buy

Hello Nick and welcome to the forum,   I have attached two documents which may be of some use to you as you enter the Horological world.  If you wish to try to save the crown and are unable to remove the broken stub it can be dissolved with ALUM . have a search on the site there are many posts regarding how it is done

Unfortunately that might  work on brass parts, but not on stainless steel like the crown of the diver in question, and so many other nowadays, because the crown itself would be attacked. Below the full thread with the indications I gave to remove a flush snapped stem.
