I'm a newby and not even sure that I'm intrducing myself in the right place!

I'm Phil, live in the North West of England and retired. I've loved watches since childhood and now, at this time of my life, I've decided to delve into the mysteries of horology and self indulgence.

I've spent loads of money on equipment and literature, and have become engaged in Youtube watching (sorry about the pun) endless dis and re assembly of all sorts od time pieces. I've just disassembled a Seiko 6309 and reading up on cleaning methods using an ultrasonic heated bath.  I'm quite excited really because I used to service all the family vehicles before Post Polio Syndrome put a stop to that! Well, that's my excuse anyway! What I'm trying to sayis that I've always enjoyed repairing mechanical things, and time pieces are just very small engines, of a sort.  Sorry to have waffled on. I hope you're not too scathed. I'm hoping to contribute in the future and it would be great if I could take advantage of the wealth of knowledge floating around this particule bit of the ether.  Thanks for reading this and I hope you are all taking care and being as safe as possible.
