  1. Its been on the back burner for a while but now finished: ..oops, that was the before pic I forgot about (Nurse get my pills). Here's how we're looking now: I managed to fashion a bow from 3mm sterling silver wire supplied by Cooksongold.com, very good suppliers of findings, bullion, gemstones etc. Big thanks to: Clockboy - for the hand, although I used a fettled chrono one in the end. Please PM your address & I will return it. Edmund - for the lead on the crystal- perfect. Geo - for the bleach tip. Its worked really well. The hole was filled with Bergeon 1590 white wax. .............couldn't have done it without your help. Cheers!

  3. Looks like it would benefit from a full service. It's probably a bit of dirt in the gearing, or possibly a bent pivot. You won't know until you strip it and examine everything very closely with a loupe. I suggest you examine all the parts before and after cleaning.

  4. Came across this whilst trawling for info. Seem to have a large selection of decent watch cases, movements etc. Not used but may be helpful to others searching for that obscure item. In Italian so you may need a translator app. http://gioielliboccacci.it/gioielli_boccacci_lista_ricambi_di_orologeria.htm

  6. Busy day today!! Also found this 'museum' site which lists many hundreds of watches with pics. Very useful if you are trying to identify or find an old or recent watch. http://timerecs.com/

  7. I agree, they are decent to work on once you have tackled the train bridge for the first time. A bit of a pain, but not that big of an issue. The Balance's shock system are very easy, indeed, to service. When done, the movement was producing +5 s/d, 265amp and .1 beat error. Lift angle of 49. Which is the correct Lift Angle for the 8215. I look forward to a future service with the new 9015 to compare. Thanks again to Lawson for this very helpful Miyota Service walk through.

  9. Take it to a Rolex official agent, they will confiscate it and put it out of its misery. Sorry to hear it didn't turn out the way you wanted. Maybe next time.

  10. I'll see you and raise you 3 more fake Rolex watches, a fake Louis Vuitton, a fake Patek Philippe and 2 Fake Tag Heures! All of this rubbish actually runs. I know I have more of this fake garbage floating around, some of the ones I can't find are automatics but I can't remember where I put them.

  14. I've been carrying this 1887 G. M. Wheeler, which I put in a 6oz Alaska metal case. I picked up the movement for $27 and the case for about $30. Gave it a little love and poof! A great every day carry. jk
