How to get this stem out?

The screw that allows the stem to be removed has a sheared off head. The screw twists a bit when the stem is pulled. Is disassembly while in the case the best option? This is a Sears Tradition I bought for practice and learning.

Thanks for any help.

Completely disassembling the movement might give you more chances but not much.

One idea would be to have something as thin in diameter as the screw head super glued to the screw head and then just try to slowly unscrew it... This would also be better done with the movement as stripped apart as possible.

Remove auto wind stuff,  release all power from the mainspring,  remove crown wheel and ratchet wheel followed by barrel bridge. Enough of the stem release screw should be exposed that you can grip it with a pair of pliers or pinvice.

Goodluck.
