Password Changes

Anybody else received a mail from "vertical-scope.com" advising about data theft from our forum.  It does not worry me too much as most of my info that has been used on watch forums is fairly easily obtained anyway but presuming this is not spoof at the minute a change of password to 10+ characters with upper and lower case plus characters and symbols may be prudent. I am still looking into it though as I thought the provider was Invision power services inc.  I may have received spoof mail

This "theft" happened in Feb of this year. They took their sweet time warning people.

They own many forums inc SCWF. Not sure they own this one though.

They have realized about it in June. Poor IT security that's.

Don't think anyone stole my identity - they were more likely to go after you vibrant 50 to 60 year olds

I don't usually open those email since they can set up (once opened) some sort of key logger (in the background) and then you will be giving out your password for sure. Maybe it was a hoax....

No it was not an hoax. Vertical scope' database (owners of the biggest watch forums) has being compromised and they were forced to a global password reset.

Fortunately it takes more than just opening an email to install a keylogger.
