7750 Plate Jewel to Small For Replacement Gear Pivota

Recommended Posts

Can I ask if the 7750 is genuine eta or an Asian copy? Some of the jeweling in the Asian versions is different than the Swiss.

If you have a jeweling kit the easiest option would be to carefully remove the Jewel so you can measure the outside dimension and then measure the pivot and order a new Jewel and refit. Will obviously then need to check and adjust the end shake.

Big issue is I don't have a Jeweling kit! That is a bigger investment that I may need to dive into. I guess there is no reaming out an existing jewel as the material would be too hard. I believe this is an Asian 7750.

Right on, this is the 2nd or 3rd posting in a short time where people assumes Asian copies can interchange parts with the original, and buy parts without prior research before purchase.

Shame, if careful a staking kit can be used to swap jewels at a pinch.

What happened to the original wheel and why is it being replaced? Is the pinion ok on the original wheel?

I crushed the original wheel pivot when screwing down the plate. A mature mistake.
