Bergeon 5500 tap size?

Just bought a Chinese version of the bergeon 5500 press, everything is good with it apart from one of the lower supports with the male thread on is not threaded right down to the shoulder so the dies won't sit on properly. 

I am very surprised at how good quality the rest of it is for the price.

Does anyone know the thread size of the dies so I can order a tap and die to sort it out, the bergeon dies do fit because I have tried them. Will a normal steel tap and die be ok for aluminium?

Have a sternkreuz press. But the dies from the bergeon press should fit this as it says in the manual. Mine is a ordinary M6 Tap . Maybe you could do a little cut or groove next to the stop?

Take the removed post to any car or motorbike repair shop and they will finish up threading for next to nothing.

Aluminium is quite a soft metal so you shouldn't have a problem, to help just add a little oil when you start.
