Rolex 3135 Beat Error Adjustment

Hi,

I just rebuilt a 3135 several months ago. That one had a bent hairspring. I was able to straighten it out so that watch would run however the watch was slightly out of beat when I finished so I had to make an adjustment. The screw you show the arrow pointing to on the balance cock will allow you to adjust the beat. If I remember correctly it prevents the stud holder from moving when tight. If you loosen it a bit the stud holder is then loose so beat can be adjusted by moving arm. Have to be very gentle as a little adjustment can make a big difference. Now Rolex may have a special tool for making this adjustment but what I did was case the movement and used a piece of pegwood to make adjustment while watch was running on my timegraph. As For that screw being an eccentric I don't think so as I loosened it a bit too much and it came out and when I put it back tight it never changed the beat at all. I do know the screw loosens and tightens but did not act like an eccentric.

After I started this I saw where someone had already answered but Thought I would go ahead and throw my two cents in. Thread got a bit off topic there and I missed the first answer,

Charles K

It's amazing what I can find on my computer accumulated over time. So I've attached a PDF for servicing the 3135 and a separate parts list. For adjusting the beat look at section 4.1. The comment about loosening the screw before rotating the stud holder.

Could you please upload these files again, dear @JohnR725? The seem to have disappeared.

Thanks in advance!

Somewhere between then and now I got a more complete kind of service guide. The original one just cover the 3135 whereas the manual itself is supposed to cover several calibers. So now we have the manual it more or less is complete. Then we get the parts list and somewhere in the universe I found a lubrication chart.
