Seiko 7N22-7028 Movement Identification

  Hello all, I had recently opened up an old Seiko from 1997 I got to change the battery, well I opened it up put the battery in and nothing works still (yes it is the right size battery). The movement looks fried and I think I need to get a whole new movement for the thing. My question is, what type of Japanese quartz movement would work for this watch? Would the one I have a picture of work?

Hi. First thing to do is measure your oil movement as the vx32E and the 43 look very similar but one is a couple of mill smaller the vx32E.  Also the canon pinion heights differ attached tech sheets for 7N22. And  VX43, check details on the sheets.

So, since the canon pinion heights differ, these problem won’t work?

The canon  pinion height must match the one you are removing, the physical size of the movement if it’s the same as the one removed should fit ok. The bogey hole is the height  to maintain clearance from the crystal
