 I bought my dream watch in 2014, a Breitling Lady Colt (the one with no diamonds) I wore it with pride and loved it. It was sent to Breitling once per year for the annual cleaning and adjustments for the first 2 years. I moved in 2017 and the cost of sending it off to be cleaned was getting too expensive so I found a local, family owned and run watch maker who'd been in business since the 1800s to put a new battery in it and clean it. All was well until 2019 and the battery only lasted 6 months. The master watchman said it was the movement that needed to be changed, he contacted Breitling and they wouldn't sell him one because he wasn't an authorized repair center. I bought a new watch to get me by, nothing like the Breitling, but it worked. My question is; can a movement from another watch be used in a Breiltling? I really love that watch, the color, the weight, the fit. Or, can an automatic movement be put into the Breitling? My husband only owns automatic watches and swears by them. I was paying close to $200.00 each time I sent the watch to Breitling to be cleaned, battery changed. I am sure the cost of replacing the movement with something original is going to put me back close to a grand if they even have it anymore. I've checked the website and they don't sell the Colt anymore. The Lady Colt wasn't the most expensive watch they made, but it was Swiss made and I sure would love to wear it again. Thanks!

 Google says Breitling ladies colt is powered by ETA superquartz 74.

Hi Julie, it is unlikely you would be able to have a different movement fit this. Doubtful a watch repairer would want to spend the time on a complicated replacement if it were even possible. Though this sort of project can appeal to guys here on the forum . One of my friends wife's has the same watch with the diamonds, and it is a beautiful watch. From a little research the calibre is a Breitling superquartz 77 or possibly 74, one i suspect is a chronograph and one a 3 hand. Based on an eta 955.652 , 956.652 but your watchman should confirm this for you before you try to search one out. Some other forums say difficult to aquire. Parts of the movement will be repairable, the coil and the gearing, possibly parts of the circuit board tracing. The only part non repairable will be the cmos. Your only option without having to spend a lot of money with Breitling is to find a repairer willing to correctly diagnose the movement fault and attempt a repair once you have aquired any parts needed. Hi watch weasol hope you are well matey.  I came across both those 2 calibres but also a 77 was mentioned. I wasn't sure they were all ladies calibres. Good sourcing info for Julie, its a lovely watch i hope she can have it fixed.  There must be dozens of guys here that could handle something like this.
