I was working on an Omega Electronic F300Hz with an ESA 9164 movement inside the last couple of days. I managed to get it humming and working again.

But the date wheel has a few damaged teeth and the day disc has every tooth chewed up. I did search eBay for replacements but the prices are crazy. I could get a whole mosaba movement for the prices they're asking for.

So it got me thinking, if I were a watch movement manufacturer, would I make a totally different day and date wheel for every movement I manufacture? It doesn't make any sense, right?

Has anyone come across parts that are used in more than one model? I know Seiko mainspring barrels are used in several models. Watch winding stems too.

Is there a database out there that catalogs interchangeable parts?

The Bestfit catalogue has been doing this forever and they appear to have an online version here although how good it is I have no idea.

There is always the Jules Borel database too which I use a lot.

Good work on getting the 9154 humming AND working again....shout out to Bulova for creating the technology, right? Someone suggested the Matsys System without mentioning that an account is needed. This is all I found:
