Very late introduction.

Hi. 

I've been a member for 4 years and I never gave an introduction. I read a post earlier and it's considered a bit rude not to, so apologies. My excuse is that I only dip in and out every now and again after a google search for answers usually brings up this website. 

I'm an electronics technician based in Wales and caught the watch repair bug about 5 years ago after 'upgrading' my Tag from a quartz to an automatic chrono... I set myself the goal of being able to service it myself when due. 

I started mainly on quartz watches, especially those from the 70s and early 80s (mostly Seikos) and then tuning fork watches (ESA 9162/4) but after 3 years I realised I was mostly stuck in my electronics comfort zone. 

Since then I've concentrated on mechanical watches and hope to become proficient within the next decade or so! 

It's a great hobby and if nothing else it keeps me sober on a Saturday afternoon. 

I've kept photos of every watch I've serviced (or tried to?) and will post something in the correct forum soon if that's permitted. My next project is a wrecked Valjoux 92

I go to new members introduction to get an idea of his/her tech knowlege/experience, his horo tools arsenal, this often helps me give a more suitable response, nevertheless, my responses are often with considerable beat error.

Wouldn't it be nice if introduction section directs new comers to give more useful infos to our community.

Maybe a Q&A sheet? I wasn't too sure what to write.

Just a breif message of who you are your experience, we dont need the family history unless you want to give it what you write is entirely up to you how ever short or long.

Always remember to add photos of the watch /movement and or caliber numbers and makers as it helps members in their daignosis .    Thanks
