Hi everyone. I am a complete newbie to watchmaking. Haven't done any real watchmaking work, I am an electronic engineer by trade. Been shadowing the forums for a while now in my free time as I find it absolutely fascinating. Took apart a junk Chinese movement 2 years ago but never got it to work because I just didn't have the right tools, and also due to lack of proper knowledge/guidance. Picked up where I left of this year, but this time I have been following the guides/comments by the members in this forum in various posts. Thanks.

Welcome fellow EE!  There are a couple of us on the forum...and a few more that have a pretty good understanding of electronics.

My dad wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but while working on an electric clock for him, as a youngster, I got interested in electronics and set my foot on the road to a wonderful career.  I have returned to watchmaking recently and am enjoying the hell out of it!

Nice to know there are like minded folks out there, and it feels reassuring that I haven't completely lost my mind buying all these expensive tools just for tinkering around. Thank you.
