Hey All,

I'm Alex from South Jersey. I'm brand new to fixing timepieces, and I'm starting to gather tools and materials. I am starting with pocket watches and hope to work my way to some fun wrist watches soon.

Thank you for your introduction and welcome to this friendly forum.

You are starting with what I always recommend P/W. The reason I suggest this is many P/W's movements are just like watch movements only a lot bigger, so you get to know the layout of the movement and handling the parts. Don't touch fusee P/W's as the movements on those are totally different.
