Hi all.  Engineer of 30 years recently taken to watch repair due to a broken ETA 2894-2. The cost of repair was more than the value of the watch so with nothing to lose I did loads of research and had a go.  I have had good results replacing the balance wheel and third wheel and the watch now runs well.  The only thing left to repair is a broken seconds hand on the subsidiary dial (hope that's the correct terminology) so will be looking for help with rebuilding the Chronograph Module.  I understand you are not advised to take this module apart but as I said its scrap anyway so why not have ago. Thanks.

Hi Have a look on gleave & co   Tech hub there is a pdf and on page 24 there is some info on the chrono.

Many thanks I had seen that bit. In your experience is that as much info as I can expect and is that because it’s not really a serviceable module. Thanks again.

Just to place things in the right perspective, technical information and parts availability aside, working on chronographs is definitely an advanced watchmaking task.

I couldn’t agree more but as I said the watch is effectively scrap. As I said I have 30 years experience in engineering and nothing has beaten me yet. I am sure with the great help I have received so far I will get there in the end.
