Looping and Junghans, Free to a good home

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

I'm moving away soon and trying to scale down a bit,

I picked up these two clocks in charity shops and they have been on the long term backburners.

The Junghans appears to just need a service and the balance swings intermittently, the Looping is a Cal.51 and appears to run fine, but the alarm needs some attention.

I will post these free to whoever would like them, preferably in Ireland or the UK (so I save a but on postage)

P.S. I ran this by OH to see if this was OK to post here

A very generous offer, I have too many on the back burner would be good if someone who's wanting to try moving into clocks got these, the looping is a very good quality alarm clock fully jewelled movement.

I'm more than happy to offer these a good home and would be very useful to me as I continue to accumulate movements to gain experience. If that would be acceptable I may be able to offer a pass on gift to a member myself.

Opps where are my manners,....please :)

I’ve visited the looping and it’s running fine, it needs a new glass which I will source. The outer rim is tarnished and will not polish out so would need replating. The face has some tiny pitting spots which will not polish out but with a new glass will hardly show.

Its a lovely little piece and one that will stay in my collection :)

The dial on the looping cleaned up very well, fair play!

It looks like solid brass? If so, you can just take the old laquer off with paint remover, then polish it and redo the clock with laquer you buy in spray cans, wipe it over with mineral turps first to take off any resadue. Don't leave it raw brass as it will tarnish quick and you will get fingerprints all over it.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do the rim?
