Broken ratchet wheel/arbor screw

Removal from the arbor: Boil it out with alum?? Thanks.

The barrel arbor is steel so it will disappear like the screw (well, be severely damaged at least). The screw is often rather loose once the head breaks off, you may well be able to get in there with a broken oiler or number 5 tweezers and spin it out.

Thanks.  I suspect the alum was not the answer.  I will try to work it out with tweezers or an oiler.
