  1. A tribute to this maybe? http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/jeep-j-12-concept-prototype-drive-review

  2. Amazing link Don, and real nice mod you have there! Independent lamp interruptors? In any case, I'm impressed with the lamps and mod! Thanks! Cheers, Bob

  3. I'm a tinkerer too, though usually my projects end up costing more than just buying whatever I'm trying to make. I've been doing some experimenting with heat sinks and different leds/power supplies. I'm really liking this mod, but unfortunately, the only place I can find that lamp for sale is from Germany. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?357036-SIS-desk-lamp-modding-with-2x-50W-Epistar-LEDs&p=4157661#post4157661

  6. Apprx. €9 at http://www.windingstems.com/windingstems.php?caliber=620 I have used this company based in Holland many times for staffs & stems. Only problem they are slow.

  7. Hi Johnvsd, I just had a look on cousinsuk. They have 2 stems for the 620. 620-1125 -> 25.80mm (extra long) 6220-1106 -> 12.20mm These are both 1 piece stems 620-1159 is a 2 piece movement stem 620-1149 is the negative part of the 2 piece winding stem (the inner part) So everything depends on the case design. If the movement comes out from the back you can use the 1 piece stem. If the movement comes out from the front and you can't 'unlock' the stem through the back, you need the 2 piece stem. In your case, the 1 piece stem is the one you need. I guess the normal length should do, but it's best to measure this to be sure.

  8. I bought the 12mm about a year ago to do a 7750 as my set only goes up to no 7 and it works fine. mmmm! must finish that one day  Actually I just looked and my set has no number 4 just 0,1,2,3,5,6,7 and now 8 ! Anything bigger or left handed I do the old fashioned way I just give my hands a good scrub first.

  9. Welcome to the site Badger. If you are looking to learn as a hobbyist, why not buy some old cheap watches off fleabay, follow instructions from here and elsewhere & save yourself a fair bit of cost in the process. This is a great site with excellent members willing to help, advise & point you in the right direction. See how you get on. No offence to the people who run courses, but unless you are looking to gain a qualification to pursue a career in horology, I feel they are a bit of a waste of time & money.

  10. Actually got the lighter working. Had to drill out the old Flint and corrosion, put a new wheel in and change the valve but it works perfectly. So good it even works upside down (;-)) Cheers, Vic

  14. Partially for my desk and computer. The other part is for more benches for my lathe, dirty work (soldering etc.) and equipment. And I have a small annex room for the polishing and ultrasonic machines and storage.

  16. Thought I would give it a test run today. The height of the bench is perfect for me - no more bent back, this is really good. Unfortunately it feels very strange not working on a bergeon work mat, in fact it feels like i'm doing something naughty! New one on order :) Here's a couple more pics: I could prolly increase the light in the room by another 20% when I clean all the dust off the windows :D
