Silly jeweling question

Hello! 

Do you press a jewel from the top or from the bottom (bottom being towards the wheel)? Or doesn't it matter?

I've only seen in from the top and that's how I've done it, but it shouldn't matter much as long as you're consistent with measuring depth. I'd venture to say that I'd go to the side that needs the less travel, but I'll let the more experienced members tell us what they think.

Jewels have a chamfer on the leading edge so they self centre as you fit them, so only go in one way.
