Hi all,

I have been intrigued with watches from the age of 11 after successfully pestering my mum for a divers watch. However I pursued a courier in the printing industry and with family commitments I could never truly follow my passion (apart from buying gradually more expensive watches to wear). However a few years ago after enforced retirement at the age of 59 I stated to repair and collect clocks. The problem with clocks they take ups lots of room and the price achieved via ebay  etc just does not reflect the time required to restore. So watches is now my hobby and passion using a converted a spare bedroom and many, many tools purchased. It has been, what seems a never ending learning curve and hopefully this forum will grow and be useful for all like minded horologists.

Great introduction!

Your foray into watch repairing has followed a very similar course to myself. Finding this forum has been a great help, I have made a few friends through it and I hope you do too.

Welcome Clockboy or should that be Watchboy now?  Watches are a fascinating subject that will keep you interested for a good many years.  After watching Marks videos I realised that I was not in the same league,  despite over 40 years interest in the subject. Today I am more interested in pocket watches (easier to see small parts) although still small enough.  Plenty of knowledge on the forums and lots of people willing to help with any questions you have.
