Hi New member here.

Pretty mechanically inclined, although I have a few broken things that may not agree.

I watched most of Mark's videos and they were very motivating. So far I have serviced a few pocket watches mostly with success.  I am trying to up my game and tackle a wrist watch so far not so good, will be asking a question in the appropriate place.

Thanks Tom

Welcome to this friendly forum. You are going the right way by starting on pocket watches then moving on to wrist watches. Quite a difference in size but with a little practice you'll get there. Plenty of info on here to help you along. If you don't find what your looking for just ask.

Welcome, and ask away! Usually doesn't take too long to get some kind of answer, most of the time a helpful one :)

Hello Tom and welcome,

you have come to the right place, ask your questions with pics if possible and I am sure you will get help. You may do this already but it is good practise to take a pic before and after every stage when servicing a watch - helps to get it back together later.  Also choose a basic mechanical to start with, bought cheaply from an auction site, perhaps just three hands only, complex chronometers are a tad difficult as a starter and like old hippy says, a pocket watch may be a good bet.

Cheers,

Vic
