I did so frustrated when i was going to mix some two component epoxi glue. When i press there always come from both tube? Making the mixture always wrong? Always comes more from one of the tubes. Metal tubes are better in that way? But now i have some Epoxi crystal glue i only want very little of. What to do? Yes i cut the pressure button in two halves. So i can press each one individual. Little crud but it works.

Both tube are exactly the same size. So in theory you should get the same amount from both tubes when you press the plunger  in the middle . But it never does. Always comes more from one or the other tubes. Making the mixture wrong. It should be a 1:1 mixture. The same as Epoxi glues from Araldite or Loctite. When i search the net now i found this. Same as my tip :)  http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/epoxy.htm . Can't be to wrong then?

I get a 404 error with your link Roger, that may be that you are doing something right and the manufacturers don't want people to know so they can keep spending their money!  :)

Cheers,

Bob

PS. I always use it as it comes with good results, btw.

virtually every epoxy should be mixed 1:1.

with the syringe-style, you can usually press a little harder on one of the plungers if they're not dispensing equally.  never thought about snipping the linkage.  nice tip...

As with any base/catalyzer mixtures, the best ratio depends on temperature, desired curing time, and even application (e.g, gluing or filling) so it's not always 1:1, which in fact is made diluting the catalyser to make it easier to compare quantities.

So for a given brand you would have to do some test to get a practical curing time table.

That was what i did before. I usually needs very little glue each time. This method works for me. And i can pull back a little on the plunger after i have get the amount i want. That way i wont get so messy next time.
